Two hand-stretched washi paper orbs rise from a slim black steel tripod — a silhouette that translates the Akari philosophy into everyday living rooms. Isamu Noguchi called his Akari lamps "light objects," designed to be as delicate as the light they carry. This Yukidaruma (snowman) form is one of the most collected shapes in the Akari family.

No — this is an Akari-style tribute. Original Akari lamps are produced exclusively by Ozeki & Co. in Gifu, Japan and are sold at significantly higher price points. Our version uses the same handcrafted washi paper technique and snowman silhouette at an accessible price.
Is the paper fragile?
Washi paper is surprisingly durable — stronger than standard paper thanks to long plant fibers. Handle with dry hands and dust lightly with a soft brush.
Does it need special assembly?
Minimal — attach the paper shade to the tripod frame (snap-fit), insert the included bulb, and plug in.
